Located inside the Teatro Arsenale, the installation invites visitors into an immersive landscape that exhibits the transformation of a raw material to its final form. A precise arrangement of 700 washbasins juxtaposed with a mountainous terrain composed of nearly 200 tons of raw clay (water and kaolin), creates a ravine for exploration and discovery.
Meanwhile, in the center of the space, a large drum of raw slip, demonstrates an early phase in Laufen’s ceramic workmanship. As visitors explore the environment, the innovation and technology behind this creative process is further revealed through imagery and film.
